The municipality of Santiago del Teide was present in the II Transnational Mission of the ECO-TUR2 Project, known as “Network of Municipalities for the Implementation of the Transnational Strategy of Eco Tourism through the creation of Thematic Eco-Tourism Products”, which was celebrated on September 5, 6 and 7 in Los Llanos de Aridane, on the island of La Palma.
The Councilor for Tourism, Luz Goretti Gorrín, was present there, along with technicians from the area as members of the ECO-TUR2 project to represent the municipality in this mission, whose objective was to continue the work and exchange between network partners.
During the event, the councilor gave a presentation on one of the thematic tourism products that the city council is currently working on, such as “Blue Ecotourism Santiago del Teide”, which completes the range of activities. that can be experienced in the destination.
This initiative (Eco-Tur2 project) seeks the implementation of the transnational ecotourism strategy through the optimization and structuring of the tourism offer and the improvement of conservation and awareness actions of the natural and cultural heritage of the cooperation space of the network of ECO-TUR2 municipalities.
Together, the municipalities of the network will develop a strategy for the creation of new thematic tourism products that diversify the tourism offer and position the destination as a benchmark in ecotourism.
