More than 90 seniors from Santiago del Teide were left composed and without journey last Saturday, when they were at the Tenerife Norte-Los Rodeos airport, where they had been transferred to fly to the so-called Costa Azahar. All of this in a week-long activity organized by the City Council, according to the complaint made yesterday by two of the three councilors that the Canarian Coalition has in this municipality.
For its part, the Corporation declined to make statements or provide information regarding what happened with this trip, which had already been paid by its participants, at a cost of 690 euros each, so the amount “disappeared” and that would have to be returned to them would be close to 70,000 euros.
In the absence of an official explanation, it is not known if it is an alleged scam or a problem for the company in terms of making the corresponding payments for any of the concepts included in this visit, as explained by nationalist councilor Ariana Trujillo. .
On a full board basis
The truth is that the group of adults had already paid for a trip that included a seven-night stay in a four-star hotel on a full-board basis, including bus transfers, an accompanying guide, tickets to various activities and lunch at two restaurants. , as well as direct flight to Valencia. The flight did not leave and those who registered stayed in Los Rodeos, forced to return to their homes in the Southern Region.
In this regard, the Canarian Coalition denounced in a statement “the lack of foresight, once again, of the Santiago government group (PP) in organizing a trip to the Valencian Community and leaving some 90 people without flying, last Saturday, in Tenerife North airport. The nationalists of Santiago del Teide regret that these 90 residents were left without flying for a trip that they had already paid for previously.
The councilor of the Canary Coalition in Santiago del Teide, Fidel Montesdeoca, assured that “we are going to request the file of the activity to see who authorized the activity and how the company that managed the trip that was unsuccessful was contracted.”
Along the same lines, councilor Ariana Trujillo assured that “we have requested the file and the hiring procedure to see which company organized the trip and whether or not everything is in order,” she said, adding that “it is not common for you to take people to an airport without having confirmed locations, check that everything is in order. We must know if it is bad management or if it is a scam,” said the nationalist councilor.
