More than a dozen carnival groups from Puerto de la Cruz and also from Santa Cruz de Tenerife paraded yesterday in the parade that put the finishing touch to the Canary Islands Summer Carnival in its VIII edition.
The Paseo de Colón, the most touristic street in the city, was filled with residents and visitors who were infected by the rhythm and excitement that the most carnival fans bring to the most international festival celebrated on the islands.
The Río Orinoco troupe opened the arena, followed by the Grupo La Palma, Son Bahía, Essavan, the murga Masquepotras, Moana, the batucada Baraberé, the choreographic group Epsylon, the Carabao Guayana troupe and Guarani Kaiowa, closing the parade the Rumberos Comparsa.
Also, yes, on the floats, the eight candidates who participated in the gala of the only king of the Carnival of the islands paraded, in which Jonay Anceaume was crowned with the fantasy Malamor by the Portuguese designer Juliana Serrano.
For an hour and a half, the magic of the Carnival was experienced in the streets of the municipality, which is already setting its sights on the horizon of the winter carnivals to once again share the talent of so many professionals and also entire families, who throw themselves into the party. which every year has its appointment in the tourist city and which in 2024 will have as its theme, chosen by popular vote, the world of the Eurovision song festival.
At the end of the arena, the Carnival Summer Party began, organized together with Marcha FM, which played the best music to say goodbye to the Summer Carnival until next year.
