The objective of the meeting was to learn about and evaluate the different proposals to support and promote the candelaria artisan sector from innovation and development, according to the local government.
In this way, «Candelaria will be the nucleus of various initiatives where it is intended to provide the group of artisans on the Island with a meeting point in which to share experiences, learn and build their brand and their products in a strategic and innovative way. ».
The authorities explain that this is also a commitment “for the continuous relationship between professionals and entities.” In this way, Villa Mariana becomes the nerve center of the R+D+i of island crafts.
With all this, the entities, the Cabildo, City Council and the Company are working to hold an exhibition next October. It is intended to focus, in a special way, on the main challenges facing Canarian crafts. Specifically, it is about addressing innovation and marketing, highlighting and communicating, in turn, the quality of the artisan product and the sustainability of its production processes.
Craftsmanship is a commitment of Villa Mariana, which has among its most interesting public spaces the Casa de las Miquelas Pottery Center, as part of the rescue of this activity that was relevant in the history of the municipality.
