3.7 million euros to improve the TF-12 between Santa Cruz and La Laguna through Anaga

The Cabildo of Tenerife invests 3.7 million euros in the improvement works of the TF-12 highway that connects the municipalities of Santa Cruz and La Laguna through the Anaga ridge. The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, explains that the work responds to “the need to provide greater security measures to a road that runs through the Biosphere Reserve” and that is “used by many residents of the area and by a large number of tourists from the Bailadero crossing to Las Canteras.”

The work will consist of the rehabilitation of the pavement, new signage and beacons, as well as the replacement and adaptation of drainage where necessary, in addition to the maintenance of services during the execution of the works. The deadline for completing the works is 12 months once they have started.

Thus the works will be carried out in various sections. First of all, the road surface will be improved between the area of El Bailadero and Cruz del Carmen between kilometer points 9+460 to 22+676. Similarly, intervention will be carried out in the urban section between Las Mercedes and Las Canteras between kilometer points 26+233 to 28+670.

In addition, the work will not only consist of the rehabilitation of the road surface, but other tasks are contemplated such as the specific repair of the clay area in Las Mercedes, between point 28+255 to 28+300; the repair of a sunken ditch in Casa de la Cumbre located between kilometer point 16+290 to 17+000 and the landscape integration treatment in Cruz del Carmen that covers from point 22+598 to 22+676.
