A section of Rodríguez Moure street will also be pedestrian

The City Council of La Laguna announces the competition to undertake the pedestrianization of Rodríguez Moure street, in the section between the San Agustín and Anchieta roads, in the downtown area of the city. «It is the last street, within the delimited area and declared as a World Heritage Site, which we still had to bid for,” said the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutierrezafter visiting the area that will be the object of this intervention.

The councilor, together with the councilor responsible for Works and Infrastructures, Adolfo Cordobés, advanced that these actions will have a base budget for the tender estimated at 279,982 euros. The bases establish that the works have an execution period of three months, from the award of the contract.

It so happens that Rodríguez Moure street “was already closed to road traffic, but it still does not have the advantages of accessibility and beautification of its pedestrianization,” the mayor clarified.

For his part, Adolfo Cordobés pointed out that this action will comply with the guidelines established by the Special Protection Plan for the paving of roads, for which he states that the intervention will be carried out “in a similar way to other recent ones carried out in this same surroundings of the historic center» of La Laguna.

smoke free

One of the aspects that the mayor of Works and Infrastructures emphasized was the importance of “continuing to transform the heart of the city into a space free of smoke and emissions derived from vehicle traffic.”

The partial pedestrianization of Rodríguez Moure street is a project that joins other similar works that have already been awarded in the course of this month and whose realization will begin soon, as is the case of the pedestrianization of Juan reallyalso between San Agustín and Anchieta streets.

The Laguna City Council reminds us that companies are interested in participating in this contest they must submit their proposals for the planned project on Rodríguez Moure street, for which they already have the tender file available on the Public Sector Contracting Platform.

On the other hand, the Department of Municipal Services carries out the renovation of the lighting of the field of soccer attached to the Francisco Peraza Stadium. The goal is to significantly improve the lighting quality of the sports facility and thus offer a first-class sports experience.

The action will consist of replacing 32 obsolete lighting devices with 12 LED technology projectors. It also includes the placement of 20-meter-high columns around the field. These structures will support the renovated luminaires, allowing for more uniform lighting that will improve visibility and safety for users .
