The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, assures that there has been a quiet nightdespite the fact that there has been a lot of movement by numerous revivalsespecially in the north of the island.

The firefighting teams work tirelessly in the tenerife firewhich has already destroyed 14,751 hectares in a perimeter of 90 kilometers.

Clavijo has reported that the greatest intensity of flames is concentrated in the Malabrigo area, in Güímar. However, there are many hot spots in the interior that are reactivated in the central hours of the day and that could exceed some control line.

These reactivations will face difficulties due to the high temperatures that are expected on the Island, after the yellow notice issued by Aemet, in which it warns that thermometers could reach up to 37 degrees. “The heat is making it difficult to control the fire,” warns the regional president.

Likewise, he explained that this afternoon the possibility that people who continue to be evacuated can return to their homes will be evaluated, provided that the fire evolves throughout the day “and prudence and safety are the modus operandi.”

During the day, 20 aerial means will continue to work in the area, two of them in coordination tasks, while the ground device will be made up of 610 troops.
