Microalgae take over the beaches of Fasnia and Arico

The microalgae They have retaken the beaches of Fasnia and Arico this TuesdayAugust 22, which has forced the affected municipalities to take measures in this regard.

Specifically, the Arico City Council has issued a municipal proclamation in which it explains that due to the proliferation of microalgae in some areas of the municipality, it is recommended refrain from bathing in the affected beach area and avoid contact with the material deposited in the sand.

For its part, the Fasnia Town Hall, in addition to asking citizens to refrain from bathing, also recommends that they avoid standing downwind to reduce the possible inhalation of aerosols on the shore.

Those who do water sports or other activities that involve immersion in the sea are asked to dress with wetsuits that prevent contact with the skin.

Also, remember that in case of being in contact with microalgae, they should shower or rinse thoroughly to remove any traces and also wash and dry the clothes.

These measures have been adopted following the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
