
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands has authorized the return of residents evacuated from the upper part of the Araya ravines and from Cruz del Camino to the Los Brezos recreational area, in the municipality of Candelaria (Tenerife).
This has been reported by the regional government, which adds that the forest fire that began on the night of August 15 on Mount Arafo has already affected 11,600 hectares in a perimeter covering about 84 kilometers along ten municipalities.
As for the evicted residents, there are some 12,000 people after the evacuations that have taken place this weekend, the last of which was that of the workers of the Parador Nacional del Teide.
During the day there is an operation of 610 people, of which 275 are combatants, 115 security, 40 logistics, 20 coordination and 160 volunteers, while 22 aerial means will work by air, two of which are coordination.
