The provisional estimate of evacuees due to the fire in Tenerife that started last Tuesday, August 15, amounts to 26,000 people.
As reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 112, this figure has been obtained as a result of the census of the different affected municipalities.
For their part, those people who need accommodation have been referred to the various authorized shelters.
Last night, the weather conditions aggravated the fire in the northern area, a situation that forced a preventive evacuation as they were interface areas, close to homes, new areas in the upper part of the municipalities of La Orotava, La Matanza , La Victoria, El Sauzal, Santa Úrsula and Los Realejos.
Despite this number of evacuations, for the moment there is no regrettable impact on infrastructure, with the priority being to protect people’s lives.
