A canoe with 62 migrants arrived last night at the Port of La Restinga, on the island of El Hierro, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112.
Once on land, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and the Red Cross assisted the occupants of the irregular vessel, all of whom are in apparent good health.
This is the second cayuco to reach the El Hierro coast in the last few hours after the Maritime Rescue rescued the 105 occupants of another boat on Friday afternoon when they were sailing near the island.
