SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The first edition of the Fuencaliente Wine Fair will allow an amount that exceeds 2,600 euros to be donated to the three wineries affected by the fire in the northwest of the island of La Palma, as reported by the Councilor for Local Development and Commerce, Patricia Hernández.
The mayor stressed that the event, held in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento on July 29, featured solidarity with the Tendal, Viñarda and Matías i Torres wineries, which saw infrastructure and crops damaged by the fire.
The City Council participated by purchasing wine from these three wineries, which was dispensed at a stand and sold more than 1,300 euros. In the same way, the acquisition of the glasses used by the attending public was also quantified at more than 1,200 euros.
The fair included the participation of the Teneguía, Carballo, Vega Norte and Aceró wineries, as well as tastings prepared by the Patrio del Vino, Zulay Pastry Shop, Dulcería Mi Gusgo, El Baifo, El Buen Gusto and Panadería de Todos.
The mayor of Fuencaliente, Gregorio Alonso, highlighted the solidarity expressed by the entire audience and the rest of the wineries that attended the event, in addition to highlighting the boost that this type of fair gives to the wine sector of the region and of the island in general.
