SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands Coalition (CC) has assessed the new scenario after the recount of the foreign vote and considers that the vote of the nationalist party is “essential” in the investiture of the next president of the Government of Spain. Thus, the nationalists understand that this proves them right about the importance of the Canary Islands having their own group, as nationalist forces have in other territories.
However, the nationalists have warned that their position has not changed after the result of the CERA vote: “We will not support any government where the extreme right (VOX) or left (Sumar) are.” In the same way, they pointed out that the vote of the Canarian Coalition deputy “would not in any case be a blank check, but would serve to strengthen the Canary Islands in the whole of the State.”
Specifically, the elected deputy Cristina Valido stressed that no support is proposed that does not contemplate the commitment of the next Government to the Canarian jurisdiction, the Statute of Autonomy and the Economic and Fiscal Regime, as well as compliance with the Canarian agenda. For Valido, “the only objective of Coalición Canaria is the Canary Islands, so we are open to talking about the Canary Islands as long as VOX or Sumar are not in the equation.”
