SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife will have the Third Sector to improve the employability of people with disabilities.
To this end, the Minister of Social Action, Águeda Fumero, held a working meeting this Thursday with some twenty Third Sector associations from all over the island with the intention of addressing issues related to the job placement of people with disabilities.
Fumero had words of gratitude for the staff of the Island Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities (Sinpromi) together with whom he explained the will of the Cabildo to “make available to Third Sector associations the tools that this institution has in relation to the labor integration of people with disabilities”.
The counselor announced her intention to “work in permanent collaboration with groups throughout the island”, with the aim of “implementing lines of action that are effective, designed keeping in mind the point of view of the people to whom they are addressed”. .
According to Fumero, “we want to work in a more transversal way and from the point of view of inter-administrative collaboration, to offer an increasingly optimal service.”
Águeda Fumero also stressed that “the labor insertion of people with disabilities is an important aspect in the area of Social Action for this mandate, taking into account that access to work is a basic right of all people and that the objective is focused in contributing to building a fairer and more balanced society, guaranteeing that all people have the same opportunities in their personal and professional development”.
Sinpromi, a pioneer organization in facilitating accessibility for people, celebrates its thirtieth anniversary this year, developing actions aimed at favoring the employment of people with disabilities in the ordinary market and making a special effort so that they can get and keep a job on equal terms with the rest of the people.
