The musical duo “Los del Río” who will perform their world-renowned song “Macarena” will close the Patron Saint Festivities in Honor of Santiago Apóstol 2023 with a concert that will take place next Tuesday, July 25, starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Plaza de Santiago del Teide and with free admission.
The festivities begin tomorrow, Wednesday, July 19 at 9:00 p.m. with the Grand Election Gala for the Children’s Queen of the festivities with the participation of the show “La Casa del Bosque” by Komba Producciones. The following day, Thursday, July 20, at 9:30 p.m., the Grand Election Gala for the Grand Lady of the festivities will be held with performances by comedian Juanito Marrero and Marea 3.
On Friday, July 21 at 9:30 p.m., there will be the Grand Gala for the Election of the Adult Queen of the Fiestas in Honor of Santiago Apóstol, with a stellar performance by former OT contestant, Jorge González.
On Saturday, July 22 at 8:00 a.m., the pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, the Tinerfeña Jacobean Route, will be blessed and subsequently depart from the Parish of Santiago Ap’ñostol in Los Realejos. At 11:00 a.m. there will be a children’s play park in the square, while from 11:00 p.m. there will be a Great Verbena by the Maraury orchestra.
On Sunday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m., reception of pilgrims at the Hermitage of the Apostle Santiago in El Valle de Arriba. Then, departure to the Parish of San Fernando Rey for the celebration of Holy Mass. Around 9:30 p.m., open-air cinema with the projection of the film “Pinocchio”.
On Monday, July 24, at 5:00 p.m. from the Parish of San Fernando Rey Third Concert of Bells Susana Torres broadcast on social networks. At 6:30 p.m., musical offering in the square and collection of non-perishable food for Cáritas Santiago del Teide. At 9:00 p.m., the celebration of the Solemnity of the Apostle Santiago will take place, presided over by the parish priest Víctor Manuel Fernández and sung by the AF Tinixara. On Monday, July 25, at 11:30 a.m., the Municipal Banner will depart from the Town Hall, accompanied by the municipal authorities, the military, the Children’s Queen, the Adult Queen and the Municipal Band of Santiago del Teide. At 12:00 pm, the Solemnity of the Apostle Santiago will be celebrated, presided over by the Hon. and Rvdmo. Mr. Bernardo Álvarez Afonso and sung by the San Buenaventura Choir. Then, a procession along the usual route, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Santiago del Teide, municipal authorities, civil, military and faithful.
At 8:00 p.m., the minutes of the XXXVII Edition of the “Rincones de Santiago 2023” Photography and Painting Contest and the VII edition of the “Letras Líricas de Santiago” contest will be read. Next, the auction and end of the festivities will be provided by the stellar performance of the Duo “Los Del Río” who with more than 40 recorded discsrecognized and awarded worldwide, with sales of more than 100 million copies, 15 million records, with 250 Gold records and 120 Platinum recordswill celebrate their 60 years in music with this concert.
