The City Council of La Laguna, through a commission made to the public company Gesplan, has managed to remove more than 112 tons of vegetable residues of 23 ravines located in the municipality.

The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, explained this Monday in a statement that, among the tasks undertaken, forestry chipping, clearing, channel conditioning, channel cleaning, general cutting at the foot of the field has been carried out. with manual procedures and the subsequent removal of bushes and reeds, among other remains of plant origin.

“These tasks are essential to favor the evacuation of rainwater in the event of future episodes of rain and to prevent forest fires with the high temperatures that we will register this summer,” adds Gutiérrez.

For his part, the Councilor for the Environment and Municipal Services, Ángel Chinea, details that the human resources used in the operation have been a technician, a foreman without a crew, 20 specialized operators, 12 foremen, 92 general operators and two help technicians. to production.

In most cases, natural waste has been treated and deposited in areas authorized by the company, following the established protocols.

A part of said waste has been provided to the farmers in the area for reuse.
