Yesterday, Sunday July 16, the Virgen del Carmen festivity, one of the most anticipated acts of the festivities of Our Lady the Virgen del Carmen 2023 in Puerto de Santiago took place, such as the traditional boat, the big day for fishermen.
The day began with Holy Mass and a procession along the usual route of the image carried by the Cargadores de la Virgen and accompanied by numerous neighbors, the mayor, members of the government group and the Band of Bugles, Drums and Bagpipes Our Lady of La Health.
During his journey to the dock there was no shortage of songs and flowers in his honor, many of which were made from private balconies in his path. Already in that place, the Virgin embarked, who carried out her maritime procession along the coast visiting the neighboring towns of Los Gigantes, Alcalá, Fonsalía, Playa de San Juan and Playa de La Arena accompanied by different boats.
On her return, the Virgin Cargadores took her back to the parish.
