The local government board Santa Cruz City Hall approved, in its session yesterday, the contracting file for the tender, by means of a simplified open procedure and urgent and anticipated processing, of the drafting service for the project for a safe pedestrian and cyclable itinerary in school and sports of the La Alegría neighborhood and Residencial Anaga neighborhoodas well as the facultative direction and coordination of safety and health of the necessary works.
A project that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by European Next Generation funds, and for which, by resolution of the General Secretariat of Transport and Mobility of the State on April 18, grants provisionally to the Santacrucero City Council a subsidy for the total amount of 3,315,753 euros.

Within this line, the creation of a safe itinerary was proposed that would serve as a link between the three existing schools in the La Alegría neighborhood, as well as the grassroots football club located on the same margin, with the Residencial Anaga neighborhood and its surrounding areas. proximity shops.
Project whose wording has now been approved to be put out to tender.
In addition, at that time it was noted that this project would be complemented by the construction of secure parking spaces for bicycles in each of the centers and with actions to calm road traffic in the area around the school infrastructures.

The objective is the limitation of cars in the center and the promotion of a modal change of transport in the city, with other projects contemplated by the City Council such as the creation of dissuasive parking at the entrance of the capital, charging points for electric vehicles or a structuring network of safer cycling routes, among other measures.
