Talent, rhythm and passion flooded the Juan Ríos Tejera pavilion on Saturday June 17 in the third edition of Tenerife Weekend Urban Dance. More than 1,000 participants from the 82 registered groups took the stage, thus achieving a historic participation that also included the visit of several national academies. The success of this event is indisputable, which this year doubles the number of registrations, consolidating this event as one of the most important in the Canary Islands.
For this occasion, there was the participation of a luxury jury made up of professional choreographers Duc Anh Tran, Flaminia Genoese, Andi Vega, and in addition to the special invitation of Jack Gómez, a twerk dancer, world-renowned for instructing celebrities like Georgina Rodriguez. The four of them, along with other teachers, also gave personalized wokshops on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The event began at the San Cristóbal de La Laguna venue with the overture by Gabri Robaina, a Canarian singer who is beginning to make a name for himself on social networks, in addition to the surprise performance of urban music, the young artist from Gran Canaria Leyvan. From there, seven categories and more than 80 groups made the 1,300 people who gathered in the pavilion enjoy themselves, achieving an absolute full house after selling out in just two hours.
