Las Eras, El Porís de Abona, Punta de Abona, Tajao, La Caleta, Las Arenas and Las Maretas receive a municipal investment of 1,462,500.67 euros for the improvement and renovation of public lighting. The Arico City Council, from the Works and Services and Contracting areas, has drawn up the corresponding projects and is working on the lighting reform in the town of Abades, which includes Ocira and Caleta María streets in the investment forecast Louise.
Some of these neighborhoods will undergo a total modification of the installation consisting of placing led luminaires, new command center, renovate the aerial and underground layout, install three-phase meter modules and general protection boxes (CGP). In this way, the quality of lighting will be improved and greater energy savings will be generated. These specific actions will take place in Las Eras, Punta de Abona and Las Arenas.
The rest of the neighborhoods mentioned only require a modification in lighting equipment, which will also guarantee an improvement in lighting with greater energy savings. In these cases, the actions focus on the replacement of lighting fixtures, key boxes, columns, and cables. These actions will take place in El Porís de Abona, La Caleta, Tajao and Las Maretas.
The Councilor for Economy and Contracting, Víctor García, justified the need for this investment because “it will make up for the deficiencies in the service and promote energy savings.” «With these projects we take another step in the improvement of the municipal infrastructure. In this case, these actions are added to others already carried out of the same nature in El Bueno or the La Villa de Arico cemetery, among others, “said the mayor.
Juan José Armas, Councilor for Works and Services, stressed that “these works will guarantee increased safety on public roads by replacing the lighting network with low-consumption LED luminaires”. He stressed that “this intervention has been highly demanded by the residents of the different neighborhoods.”
