The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (CC), José Manuel Bermúdez, has announced that the local Corporation will appear in the legal case against number two on the PSOE list, José Ángel Martín, arrested this past Wednesday for an alleged assault to a citizen who suffered a double fracture in the leg.

Bermúdez has indicated at a press conference that “the presence of minors and the possible consequences of personal or material damage” force him to take this initiative, to “guarantee the interests of this public administration.”
He has opined that the explanations given by the socialist candidate for mayor of Santa Cruz, Patricia Hernández, who announced that Martín is resigning from all his posts, “are insufficient”, and has accused her of making an account of the facts that “is not they correspond to reality” detailed by neighbors and witnesses, “of whose credibility I have no doubt,” he said.
