Peter Martinpresident of the Council of Tenerife and PSOE candidate for re-election, announced yesterday that the sports and leisure park of the Escuder Estatein the lagoon district of TacoConstruction will begin this year. Martín participated in a neighborhood meeting together with the mayor and socialist candidate for the La Laguna City Council, Luis Yeray Gutierrez.

The PSOE of Tenerife thus responds to a historical demand of the citizens, who demanded the use of this space for their enjoyment. The Cabildo, under the mandate of Pedro Martín, has promoted this mandate the construction of this sports and leisure park with which the area is recovered, they highlighted from the party. The place will be adapted and respectful with the environment for the practice of sports. The purpose of the project is the environmental regeneration of the farm, which borders the Taco neighborhood and Padre Manjón street. In total, about 5,900 square meters of surface will be intervened. Pedro Martín assured that “this is a long claim of La Laguna”. Furthermore, he emphasized that this “is not an idea for the future; today we bring a practically completed procedure that will allow us to have an area for sports activities, a garden area, a space with lighting, with walks, to enjoy and make this space more habitable”.

For his part, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez appreciated the implementation of this project to provide a solution to an “abandoned space that needed urgent improvement.” “This is already a reality, and it is nothing more than reflecting the need to recover urban spaces for the enjoyment of neighbors. Taco needed this place, to reconvert this area, which has been the subject of broken promises for years, ”he emphasized. For her part, Begoña Arocha, president of the October 1953 Neighborhood Association of San Luis Gonzaga de Taco, thanked Pedro Martín and Luis Yeray Gutiérrez “for responding to so many years of deception, for telling us that it would not be possible to rehabilitate this space.”

As reported, by the Cabildo the Governing Council approves the contracting of the file and the list of clauses that must govern the contract to carry out the works, with a base budget of 1.3 million euros. If the deadlines are maintained, once the works for the execution of the works begin, a period of seven months has been set.

Among the actions planned is the creation of two types of routes for runners, on asphalt and on compacted earth. In total, 540 linear meters are projected for asphalt roads and 360 for dirt roads. Among other benefits, a calisthenics circuit and training equipment will be installed, as well as a bio-healthy furniture area covered by a pergola, with equipment for physical exercise.

The park will have public lighting both inside and in the surrounding streets; A metal fence will be built to delimit the entire plot and the space will be enriched with green areas and shaded areas, an irrigation system and street furniture, among other services. The urbanization of the environment is also contemplated.
