The mayor of Town Hall of El Sauzal, Mariano Perezdoes not fit in his astonishment after the unexpected inheritance left by a recently deceased resident of the municipality. The mayor has counted on Antenna 3 News that a few days ago, a man showed up at the office of the council and left a key. “I got nervous because he told me that he had to sign some documents and he didn’t know what it was about,” he acknowledged.
It turned out to be the key to a huge chalet located in the area of The Calvary, in which the gynecologist and resident of the town Eduardo Pinto had spent most of his life. After his death in January, his heirs realized that part of his assets should belong to the residents of his town, so this week they handed over the key to the mayor.
The inheritance is not an ordinary house, but an extraordinary villa valued at more than one million euros and located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea. The property has a huge garden of more than 1,000 square meters, barbecue, cellar, attic, six rooms and a heated pool. The generous gift also includes everything that is inside the house: paintings, furniture, decoration and four vehicles, including a Jaguar with which it has not yet been decided what to do with.
The doctor left in writing in his legacy that this donation should be used for a social or cultural purpose, so the council has decided to convert the house into a home for the elderly. Regarding the works of art, collaborations with the University of La Laguna are being considered so that art students can catalog the works and they can be exhibited as soon as possible, thus allowing all the residents to enjoy this gift that belongs to the town. .
