SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ciudadanos (CS) candidate for Mayor of La Laguna, María Aranzazu Artal, defends in her electoral program the expansion of the current line 1 of the Tenerife Tram to Los Rodeos airport.

For this, the layout proposed by the liberal will run along Pablo Iglesias street, bringing this means of public transport closer to the populous neighborhoods of San Benito, El Coromoto and El Camino de San Lázaro.

Artal assures in a note that “with this layout the tramway will be able to serve a larger population and will invite many Laguna residents to leave their vehicles at home and opt for public transport.”

In addition, the leader from La Laguna adds that “the project has peripheral car parks designed for those people who from other nuclei can also use the tram comfortably.”

The layout of line 1 currently starts from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife interchange and ends at Avenida Trinidad de La Laguna, where an average of 70,000 passengers move every day.

The extension of the route would make it possible to reach one of the main infrastructures of the island of Tenerife comfortably and without traffic problems, such as the Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna airport, which handled almost six million passengers in the last year , highlights the orange formation.

Artal also recalls that “one of the main problems that occurs in the City of Aguere is traffic, it is the obligation of anyone who claims to be its mayor to improve it and do it by betting on a clean and sustainable environment such as guided transport that moves through renewable energy.
