SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The candidacies of Unidas Podemos Santa Cruz –headed by Ramón Trujillo– and Unidas se Puede in La Laguna –led by Rubens Ascanio–, as well as that of Unidas Sí Podemos to the Cabildo –led by Manuel Marrero–, have signed an agreement this Friday with about twenty joint commitments to improve public services and better conservation and management of the cultural and natural heritage of both municipalities.

These measures include a mobility model based on public transport, BUS-HOV lanes and park-and-ride parking; the rejection of the Vías Exterior, de Cornisa and the Circunvalación of the TF-5; the stoppage of the extraction of aggregates in Montaña de Taco to build the planned park; common attention to homelessness with decent housing alternatives as well as pooling the provision of public services.

With the name of ‘Pact of Araguy’ (old name of the Santos ravine, which runs through both municipalities), the document was signed and presented this Thursday in the Rocío park, located in La Cuesta, on the edge of the Santos ravine and right on the border between Santa Cruz and La Laguna.

This agreement was signed by Ramón Trujillo, Dolores Espinosa and Ignacio González (on behalf of the candidacy in Santa Cruz), Rubens Ascanio, Idaira Afonso and Saúl Alberola (for La Laguna) and Manuel Marrero (head of the Cabildo list).

This initiative was also supported with her presence by the candidate for the presidency of the Canary Islands Government and regional coordinator of Podemos, Laura Fuentes, collects a note from the coalition.

Another of the agreements included in the document is to promote better connectivity and sustainable uses of the Anaga Rural Park (declared a Biosphere Reserve); creation and consolidation of peri-urban or metropolitan parks; the acquisition and putting into use of the castle of San Joaquín (declared a BIC with the category of monument) and the protection and dissemination of archaeological sites such as those of the Santos and del Muerto ravines.

The document also includes the insularized management of the Valle Colino Regional Animal Shelter; the implementation of an eco-axis in the valleys between La Laguna and Santa Cruz; promote greater citizen participation in matters that concern the two cities and urge better coordination of educational or health centers that serve the population residing in the border area.
