The mayor of tacoronte, Jose Daniel Diazof new canarieshas shown this Tuesday his rejection of the project of the third rail of the TF-5 from Guamasa to La Orotavawhose public information and consultation process opened last week.

In a statement, Díaz states that the project “does not have any sensitivity” with the municipality of Tacoronte, since “the accesses to the Los Naranjeros highway are eliminated” and others that “are safer and more powerful from the point of view trade and employment generation.

He criticizes that at the entrances and exits of Tacoronte “a space for a link is condemned that does not seem to make any sense, eliminating a public facility that has been planned for many years, intended to house an interchange or various regional facilities.”

He also does not agree with considering the bus station in the current location, when the municipality has a document that is pending an environmental report in the Cabildo de Tenerife, which proposes a relocation of said facility, so that the current one serves as a great parking or interchange.

José Daniel Díaz criticizes that the service roads that are proposed in the project are “absolutely deficient” and in the case of the one that comes from the IES Los Naranjeros, which does not propose a bridge, “is condemned by the ravine, which at the same time In the end, it generates an absolutely miserable connection for the needs of the municipality”.

The mayor of Tacoronte recriminates the Government of the Canary Islands that the project “has not been negotiated” with his municipality and is being “imposed through public exposure”, which “is not the way to build the future of Tenerife” .

“We can verify that, once again, both the regional government and the Tenerife Council turn their backs on the north of the island in a brutal way,” he concludes.
