SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs of the Government of the Canary Islands has put out to tender the construction works of the two buildings that will concentrate the essential services of the Autonomous Community, for an amount of 79.7 million euros and an execution period 32 months.
The estimated value of the contract to be signed will reach 89.4 million euros.
The department headed by the Vice President of the Government, Román Rodríguez, thus resumes a roadmap that had to be modified due to the pandemic, since the project was already contemplated in the 2020 Autonomous Community Budget Law.
In any case, the Executive details in a note that in 2021 a functional plan was approved, the basis for the execution project, with the participation of the ministries responsible for providing the services that will be housed in the building,
According to the tender documents, promoted by the General Directorate of Assets and Contracting, the term for the presentation of offers will end on May 26, while the contracting tables will take place during the month of June.
The objective of the Government is that the work is fully executed in 2026.
Most of the funds that will be allocated to the construction of the buildings will be European, not in vain the EU has specifically enabled financial resources for the execution of infrastructures of this type, which, moreover, would have been lost if not used for these purposes .
The buildings will be erected in Telde, in Gran Canaria, and La Gallega, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will have 23,000 square meters each and are identical.
Its operation will be as a single structure with two locations, so that one is a mirror of the other, which will allow its operation in the event of a failure in one of them.
Both buildings are located in accordance with the strategic principle of ensuring optimal accessibility and interconnection with the main road infrastructures of an urban-territorial nature.
Likewise, these locations allow easy interrelation with other essential services, especially those linked to critical areas related to citizen care and protection.
Its design has also provided for its ability to deal with exceptional situations of a seismic and vulcanological nature, or those derived from adverse meteorological phenomena.
Among the services that the buildings will house are 1-1-2; security and emergency control centers (health emergencies, Civil Protection, Fire, Maritime Rescue or Canary Islands Police, among others); the information telephone number 012; the cyber center or the social tele-assistance telephones.
