SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The firms 3nueve Studio and Shamelu have emerged as winners of the new edition of the contest to support emerging talent La Palma Fashion Talent, which took place during the first day of La Palma Fashion Week, an event framed within the business cooperation program financed with FEDER funds called Modamac (MAC2/.3d/271).
The Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de La Palma, Raquel Díaz, indicated that recognizing excellence and supporting emerging talent is the objective of this important award that serves as support and a showcase for entrepreneurs in the creative and textile sectors.
Raquel Díaz pointed out that this new edition, with a markedly sustainable character, has had a wide participation of companies from La Palma, highlighting the use of artisan techniques, as well as ecologically certified materials for both the textile collections and the jewelry and accessories collections. .
Brito, Melisa Rodríguez and 3nueve Studio presented their collections in the jewelry and accessories category, considered by the members of the jury as “avant-garde and of high quality, both creatively and in the use of production processes and sustainable materials”. .
The jewelry and accessories firm 3nueve Studio, directed by Andrea González, has been awarded the prize for the best 2023 collection with a proposal inspired by nature, specifically a very characteristic shrub present in the Canary Islands: cardboard (Euphorbia Canariensis).
His collection, which is entitled ‘Euphorbia’, has ten pieces characterized by their organic shapes, striking designs, as well as the realization of a totally handmade process in their production and respectful of the environment.
In the textile category, the talent and dynamism of the firms Raquel San Juan, Shamelu and Haruki burst onto the catwalk, establishing itself as the winner Shamelu, a firm directed by Lucía Acosta with an innovative and transcendental proposal called ‘Todo Quema’.
The swimwear collection is inspired by the evolution of emotions and their transformation through memories after a catastrophic event such as the Cumbre Vieja volcano. For this, the young creative wanted to show a symbiosis between memory and emotion.
In addition to being able to boost their brand thanks to this award, the winning firms will become part of the Isla Bonita Moda program, which will, from now on, provide them with support in their process of professionalization, promotion, as well as in the marketing of their products.
All the firms that presented their proposals during the new edition of La Palma Fashion Talent have received praise from the members of the jury, who described them as “enormously creative and of great quality”.
This first day of La Palma Fashion Week has hosted, in addition to the celebration of La Palma Fashion Talent, the catwalks of the La Palma firms Julia Brito, Vidina Romero and the Madeira firm Void, which is taking part in the event for the first time.
The designer Julia Brito presented ‘Meraki’, a collection made up of headdresses and accessories created with the aim of offering a different, creative vision without gender or age in which materials such as natural silk, linen and cotton predominate, as well as realization of embroidery through the use of artisan techniques.
The young creative Vidina Romero has inspired her collection in dreams, moods and fears. Through dresses, sets made up of vests and shorts as well as tops and jeans, the designer recreates a universe full of dynamism and colour.
The firm VOID, from Madeira, participates for the first time in La Palma Fashion Week through Grelo da Terra_23, a collection inspired by the atmosphere, style and visual references of the Island of Madeira. The collection is made up of contrasting colors and prints, contemporary coordinates and high-tech fabrics.
