Tenerife will be present next week, from April 17 to 20, at the thirty-sixth edition of Salón Gourmets de Madrid. He Council of Tenerife In this important gastronomic event, it will have a space measuring 15×3 meters, in which it will exhibit some of the best products from the primary sector of the Island, such as wines, fresh meats, honey, liqueurs, chocolates, fish, extra virgin olive oil, vermouth or Fasnia figs.

The Salón Gourmets is the most important annual fair for high-end food and beverages. As in previous editions, the island’s stand will be integrated as a co-exhibitor within the stand of the Government of the Canary Islands. Within the program of the Tenerife stand, the realization of two culinary demonstrations with tasting. The elaborations will be focused on the promotion of artisanal fish and meat and agricultural products from the island.

Specifically, this Monday (April 17) at 2:15 p.m., students will be taught how to prepare a millefeuille of red tuna, with mashed sweet potatoes and crunchy tuna pork rinds. And on Tuesday the 18th, at the same time, a low-temperature black pork will be prepared with red plantain marinated in red mojo sauce.

Also noteworthy is the presence of the six wine denominations that operate on the island (Abona, Valle de la Orotava, Valle de Güímar, Tacoronte-Acentejo, Ycoden-Daute-Isora and Islas Canary Islands), through different tastings and tastings.

The ‘snoring’ of the tuna

At the same time, the Cabildo and the ICCA will develop a tuna workshop that will include a talk by professional fishermen and the biologist of the Island Corporation Agustín Espinosa, a master class in tuna snoring and a tasting.

In the 70,000 square meters of the Salón Gourmets 2023, the presence of more than 2,000 exhibitors and an approximate number of 100,000 professional visitors.

Participants will be able to discover and taste more than 55,000 quality products and drinks. As in previous editions, contests, championships, prizes, tastings, culinary demonstrations and many other activities linked to the world of wine and gastronomy.
