Workers at Hogar Santa Rita in Puerto de la Cruz, the largest nursing home in Canary Islandsthey met again this Monday to demand a meeting with the Government of the Canary Islandsthe Council of Tenerife and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation that manages the center in which the situation of this facility, which houses 510 people, is clarified. Alexis Rodríguez, member of the Federation of Health and Social Services of CCOO Tenerife, explained that the concentration was called in protest for the management carried out by the Directorate and Management, in his opinion “the main obstacle to solving the problems of the center”.
The union representative encouraged the relatives of the residents to take an active part in this conflict because, he has indicated, the main objective of the workers is guarantee the attention to the users of Hogar Santa Rita. In Santa Rita there are 440 workers that since Easter a year ago they have suffered delays in the payment of wages.
