NC approves the candidacy of Román Rodríguez for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands

LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, 1 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The executive or flavor of Nueva Canarias (NC) approved this Saturday, in an extraordinary session and unanimously, the candidacy of the president, Román Rodríguez, for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the elections on May 28 by being designated as number one of the Canarian constituency.

The national leadership authorized the heads of the list of 70 global candidacies, including those of the Parliament for the islands, the councils and the town halls. The electoral program that defines, with proposals, a country project, with present and future, was also approved.

The leader of the progressive canaristas informed of the agreements adopted by the flavor related to the next appointment with the polls. The Parliament, in the Canary constituency and, therefore, candidate for the Presidency of the Government, will be headed by Román Rodríguez.

For the island of Gran Canaria to the Legislative, Carmen Hernández will be the head of the electoral plate. For Fuerteventura, Natalia Santana. For Lanzarote, Yone Caraballo. In Tenerife, Daniel Diaz. In La Palma, Maeve Sanjuán. While, in La Gomera and El Hierro, the final decision is pending.

To the councils, the president in Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, will be eligible for re-election. The number one in Fuerteventura will be Matías Peña. In Lanzarote, Oscar Noda. In Tenerife, Valentin Correa. In La Palma, Juan Miguel Rodríguez. In La Gomera and El Hierro, the final option is yet to be decided.

For the municipalities of Tenerife, Odalys Padrón will be the first on the list. In La Laguna, Ana María Orán. For Tacoronte, Daniel Díaz will run for re-election as mayor. In La Victoria de Acentejo, Vicente Pérez will be number one. In La Orotava. Michael Lopez. In San Juan de la Rambla. Juan Alberto Perez.

In Candelaria, Oliver Deniz. In Güimar, Carlos Llanera. In Arona, Nauzet Farina. In Tegueste, Antonio López from Ahora Tegueste-NC. In El Sauzal, Juan Daniel Fajardo for the Independent Association of El Sauzal-NC. In El Rosario, Scholastic Gil of Initiative for the Rosario-Los Verdes // IR-Greens. In Garachico, Ramón Miranda for the Garachiquense Association // A’Gara. In these last two municipalities, Nueva Canarias supports the candidacies of the local political formations of Gil and Miranda thanks to the agreement signed.

In the municipalities of Gran Canaria, Pedro Quevedo will lead the electoral proposal in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In Telde, Carmen Hernández will run for re-election as mayor. Like Óscar Hernández (Roque Aguayro) in Agüimes. In Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García also aspires to re-edit the Mayor’s Office. Like Teodoro Sosa (Rural Nationalist Bloc-NC) in Gáldar and the mayor, Pedro Rodríguez (Together for Guía-NC), in Guía.

Francisco Atta (Neighborhood Association) will also ask for the trust of residents in Valsequillo to continue as the first person in charge of the City Council. Isabel Peñate, from Alternativa por San Mateo, heads the plate in Vega de San Mateo. In Arucas, Marcelo Francisco Afonso. In Ingenuity, José López Fabelo from Forum Drago-NC. In San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Samuel Henríquez. In Mogan, Javier Romero. In La Aldea, Pedro Suárez. In Agaete, Jesús González of the Rural Nationalist Bloc-NC.

In Santa Brígida, José Armengol de Ando Sataute. In Artenara, Manuel Mendoza. In Firgas, the mayor Jaime Hernández of Compromiso por Firgas-NC will run for re-election. In Teror, Isabel Guerra will head the list. In Valleseco, she is pending. In Moya it will be Nicolás Ojeda González and in Tejeda, Francisco Juan Perera from the Tejeda Voters Association.

For the municipalities of Fuerteventura, in Puerto del Rosario, Gilberto Dees will head the electoral plate. In La Oliva, Oliver González. In Pájara, Rafael Perdomo for Juntos Por Pájara-NC. In Tuineje, Pilar Rodríguez and in Antigua, Matías Peña from Alternativa por Antigua.

For the municipalities of Lanzarote, Armando Santana will be number one. In San Bartolome, Pablo Yebra. In Teguise, Fernando Jiménez. In Tías, Arminda Barreto. In Tinajo, Antonio Jesús Morales from the Tinajo-NC Renewal Movement. For Haría, Marcos Lemes and, in Yaiza, Óscar Noda from Unidos Por Yaiza (UPY). Nueva Canarias, by virtue of an agreement, will support UPY in the aforementioned town.

To run for mayor of La Palma, Maeve Sanjuán will lead in Santa Cruz. In Tazacorte, Juan Miguel Rodríguez and, in Garafía, Madeleine Reyes thanks to the agreement with Fuerza Garafiana.

In La Gomera, Libertad Ramos will try to reach the Mayor of San Sebastián. In Hermigua it will be Jacob Piñero and, in Valle Gran Rey, Ángel Manuel Piñero. In the municipalities of El Hierro (Valverde, Frontera and El Pinar), the final decision is pending.

The president of NC affirmed that the canarianism of progress is, at present, “in the best” conditions to face an appointment with the polls, in its 18-year history. Thanks to a structure and implementation that will allow it to present around 1,500 candidates. Being present in most town halls.
