Early this morning, a fire outbreak in Los Realejos, specifically in the Icod el Alto area. Firefighters are working to extinguish it, although, according to what Pedro Martín, president of the Cabildo, has revealed, the “most worrying” thing is that it could be provoked.

The fire started at 5 in the morning and troops from Brifor and firefighters traveled to Los Realejos. According to the island council, “there are no longer llamas” so the attempt will be completely controlled in the next few hours.

Speaking to Canary Islands RadioPedro Martín pointed out that everything indicates that it has been intentional: “What worries us about the fire this morning in the Los Realejos area is that it does not seem to have occurred naturally.”

For their part, the mayor of Los Realejos Adolfo González and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies Carolina Toste have been active and have remained informed since the detection of the flames, in addition to the area councilors, Alexis Hernández and Olga Jorge, and at all times in coordination with the director of Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo de Tenerife and president of the Consortium of Firefighters of Tenerife, Rubén Fernández.

At this time, the tasks of refreshment of the area and surveillance continue until its extinction.

The weather forecast for today indicates that the sky will be clear, on a day in which the heat in the Canary Islands It will be the predominant tonic, with very high temperatures for this time of year, as reflected by the State Meteorological Agency (aemet).

The temperatures will suffer few changes, except for a rise in the maximum in Tenerife, where they can reach 32º C inside.
