tennis balls to achieve a more inclusive center. It is the request of a school in Tenerife, specifically the CEIP Rambla de Santa Cruz, during Health Week. It has been the AMPA of the school that has formalized this request for those students with special educational needs.

“Noise can be a great disturber when it comes to learning. Numerous studies support the placement of tennis balls on desks and chairs as a strategy to reduce the noise level in the classroom and improve the learning environment for students with neurodivergent special educational needs with ASD, ADHD, AACC or with sensory processing problems. among others”, they highlight in their statement.

For this reason, they ask all those people who may have at their disposal tennis or paddle tennis balls already discarded for their use, especially sports clubs, to send them to the center from today, March 27, to Friday the 31st of the same month.

The use of tennis balls on the legs of chairs and tables in educational centers, as a simple and economical method to muffle and minimize noise, is a very widespread technique in educational centers throughout Europe.

Its use is being applied both in schools and universities, as well as in municipal libraries to help maintain concentration. The purpose is to reduce noise pollution by contributing to the creation of a space more comfortable and free of annoying sounds.
