Three years after complex works began, and after overcoming the vicissitudes of the pandemic and the cost overruns of materials due to the war in Ukraine, Adeje yesterday inaugurated an auditorium that will have the second best stage box in Tenerife (76 square meters) and one of the three best in Spain in modern technology.
Built on the old Esquivel Cinema and right next to the Cultural Center, the new Adejero auditorium has two rooms with capacity for 503 and 110 people, in a two-story building with 1,750 square meters.
The work has been carried out by the Satocan company, with the municipal surveyor Román García in charge of the entire execution process, which has cost 8.5 million euros, one more than initially planned, which has subsidized 60% (five million) the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Both Pedro Martín and the vice president of the island corporation stressed that “works like these reflect the policy of the Cabildo to bring culture to all the islands and to listen to the” municipalities and not protect them.
The mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga thanked “the impulse given to the work by Pedro Martin” and explained that “today is a very happy day because the mixture of the culture of the 118 nationalities that reside in Adeje makes us become more competitive every day ”.
The auditorium already has an extensive program closed until December, which will begin this Friday with a performance by Los Sabandeños.
