The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife announces a lawsuit against Navarro Tacoronte

The President of the Council of TenerifePedro Martín, has announced on Monday morning, a lawsuit against Antonio Navarro Tacorontealleged mastermind of the plot known as ‘mediator case‘ for some of the statements that he considers besmirch his honor and reputation.

“Between today and tomorrow the documentation in the courts to initiate legal proceedings against Mr. Navarro“Martín said before advancing that he will not make any more statements regarding this plot:” I do not want to further feed what I understand to be an interest in harming someone or some people and I am not going to feed the circus.

Regarding accusations leveled at the president of the insular corporation by Navarro Tacoronte, Martín recounts his version of each of the facts of which he is accused. Thus, it indicates that the ‘mediator’ appeared last year in the office of the insular president to speak to him about the Insular Director of Sports, according to his words to warn him not to place his trust in him.

“It is not spoken in any way nor is any document provided about what we have now known to be the Mediator plotbut the objective of that meeting was, fundamentally, to discredit the insular director of Sports with whom I later learned that they had been friends and had gotten angry or had fought with each other and the matter was there,” says Pedro Martín.

The president of the Cabildo also rules out that use money from the Güímar City Council to buy a dog and he appeals to Navarro that “if he has any proof of an expense from someone who says he gave it away, he should go and present it to the court now.” “I have two dogs and I have bought them both with my money,” insists Pedro Martín, who says he has spoken with the breeder with whom he made the transaction, since Navarro cites him as a source, and assures that he has told him that “neither He’s his cousin and he hasn’t seen him in his life”.

“I’m not a friend of that man”

“Mr. Navarro says that I am a friend of his. I am not a friend of this gentleman. I have not had any relationship with him now that I am president of the Cabildo nor did I have any relationship when I was mayor of Guía de Isora,” he insists. Peter Martin who clarifies that the Cabildo de Tenerife “is not linked to any corruption plot, nor has it anything to do with those aid to cattle” that are the germ of this corruption plot politics in the Canary Islands.

“No one is being investigated, as far as I know, to this day, nor is anyone being accused of the Cabildo nor is there anyone who is being investigated. Therefore, what is truly important is that this plot has nothing to do with the Cabildo of Tenerife”, affirms the president of the island corporation who in fact rules out that the opening of this judicial process implies changes in the electoral list for the institution in the next regional elections in May.

“We have no relationship with the mediator. What the insular director has is a litigation problem between him and Mr. Navarro. The former director submitted his resignation, he does not belong and has never been belonging to the socialist party and, therefore, he does not I find out what would be the reason for any change in any list”, explains Pedro Martín before concluding that “that is as much as assuming that we have something to do with it. And, of course, we have nothing to do with this matter”.

The announcement of this lawsuit would be the second part of the political accusations made by Navarro Tacoronte, after the president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, also announced last week the initiation of legal action after some statements by the mediator about his involvement in the alleged plot of political corruption in the Archipelago.
