The Santa Cruz City Council, through the Autonomous Organization for Fiestas and Recreational Activities (Oafar), has organized a program that will last from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning for the celebration of the Piñata Carnival weekend.
The first of these activities will be the Children’s Arena, which will start today, at 6:00 p.m., from the confluence between Numancia and Méndez Núñez streets, running to Villalba Hervás street and in which all the children’s Carnival groups will participate, as well as the award-winning costumes, children’s centers and the batucadas of schoolchildren from the Virgen del Mar and Bethencourt y Molina schools.
Starting at 11:30 p.m., the stages of Francisco La Roche, La Candelaria and El Príncipe will host the nightly dances, which will last until five in the morning. Thus, the popular Anaga avenue will present a lineup made up of the following artists: DJ Wes, Eazy Brain, Kidd Quetto, DJ Vikingo, Fabi Boss and Ubay Hdez.
In the Plaza del Príncipe, Tropicalia will take place, a multidisciplinary show that includes Laura Low, Sistah Vibes, Guacamayo Tropical, Tiraya, Candela, Parcero, Manatí and Frankawara.
Puerto Rican singer Edwin Rivera will perform on the Ron Barceló stage in Plaza de la Candelaria starting at midnight. DJ Nicky will participate in the same location, together with the Tropin and Gomera orchestras.
daytime carnival
Tomorrow, the 25th, Santa Cruz will experience its second day of Daytime Carnival, starting at noon. The artists who will spend until six in the morning on the stage of the Plaza de la Candelaria will be led by the Carnival comparsas, which will be followed in this order by Reyes del Boncho, David Civera, Coyote Dax, K-Narias, King Africa , Johnny Maquinaria, Henry Méndez, Dasoul, Melody, Frantana, Arodi Llanos, Ariel de Cuba, Virginia Guantanamera and Killian Viera will close the night. On the stage of the Plaza del Príncipe, and at the same time, the artists Jimeno and Los Niños, El Pulpo, Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto, Depol, Orquesta Bembé, Musically Show, Orquesta Columbia and Orquesta Guaydil will perform.
For its part, on the Francisco La Roche stage, the Daytime Carnival will host a cast of Latino artists led by Manny Manuel, Óscar de León, La India and Tony Tun Tun, who, starting at half past two in the Later, they will be part of a poster in which DJ Latino, Morocho, Elías Uche and Jadel will also participate. The performances on the aforementioned stage will end at six in the morning by DJ Jonay.
