Two arrested in the Canary Islands for having sex with minors in exchange for money

The Civil Guard ha arrested two men residents in Tenerife and Gran Canaria accused of having sexual relations with minors, with whom they contacted through an adult social network, in exchange for moneyreported sources from the armed institute.

The investigation arose in mid-2022 following a complaint from the mother of one of the minorswho after accessing the content of his 14-year-old son’s mobile phone, realized that he was having erotic content conversations with people of legal age and sexual relations in exchange for money.

Two other minor friends of the first would have participated in these sexual encounters, and they had started through an adult social network in which they had registered as users.

After hearing a statement from the three minors, The Civil Guard determined the existence of at least four encounters with two different adults, one in hotel complexes in the south of Tenerife and the other in different areas of the southern coast of Gran Canaria.

The defendants established a first contact with the victims through a well-known social network, where they exchanged their mobile phones in order to make appointments through instant messaging applications, the sources detail.

Within the framework of the police investigation, which was carried out under the direction of the Investigating Court number 2 of Arona, and the coordination of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Prosecutor’s Office, the Civil Guard agents managed to identify the detainees, obtaining sufficient evidence to accredit the encounters that the minors narrated.

One of them, identified as HS, aged 48, was arrested in the south of Tenerife, where he lived, while the second, identified as ASDS, aged 56, was arrested in the south of Gran Canaria, where he resides. on a regular basis.

Both were made available to the investigating court of Arona, whose holder ordered the entry into preventive detention of both detainees.

The investigation was carried out by the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Playa de las Américas, belonging to the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police Command of the Civil Guard of Tenerife.

The armed institute recommends that parents control the contact that their minor children have as users on the Internet and social networks with adults who are not trusted.
