The City Council of La Orotava, through the Environment and Citizen Participation areas, has installed two interpretive tables in the La Florida neighborhood to disseminate some of its natural and ethnographic values. This initiative is one of the coordinated actions between the agents citizens of the neighborhood and the town hall itself, aimed at enhancing historical and ethnographic dissemination, as well as the natural value and biodiversity of the La Florida hillside.
The information tables are located at two municipal spaces with views of the hillside that separates La Orotava and Santa Úrsula: lto Plaza de Don Hernando and the children’s playground in the area. This geographical accident is of great importance due to the objective of this project: to disseminate the historical uses and customs of the area by the local population, as well as its natural and scenic values, since it houses two protected natural spaces such as the protected landscape of La Resbala and the integral nature reserve of Pinolere.
The project arose from the San Antonio Abad Fiesta de las Tradiciones Association and the Maninindra neighborhood association, with the support of the Departments of Citizen Participation and the Environment. The preparation and installation of the tables was entrusted to the company Trivo Local Solutions.
