The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has announced this Tuesday that the award of the expansion work of the port of Playa Santiago (La Gomera) will be a reality before the end of the legislature, once the biodiversity report and the environmental impact statement.
This has been advanced in response to a question from the spokesperson for the ASG parliamentary group, Casimiro Curbelo, who expressed his desire that this work be tendered “as soon as possible”, if possible before next May, because “fifteen years ago “That has been talking about this project.
In his response, Ángel Víctor Torres wanted to recall that this project dates from 2007 and assured that this legislature “will be the definitive one” to carry out the work because “circumstances have arisen, doubts have been cleared up and doubts have been according to the administrations.
Torres announced that in the next two weeks, “unless something absolutely unforeseen appears” the biodiversity report from the Ministry of Ecological Transition will be ready and, in February, the environmental impact statement report.
The president added that from there the construction project will come and the bidding will be carried out so that there is a company that begins the works.
