SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Delegate Council for Equality and Prevention of Gender Violence, has brought together fifty entities at the XIV Island Meeting of the Tenerife Violeta Network, which was held at the Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz.
Around 65 heads of entities and groups gathered at this meeting with the aim of presenting the results of the experiences developed in 2022. In the same way, almost twenty projects were presented to be carried out next year, within the Framework Strategy for Actions in Gender Equality Policies Tenerife Violeta (METV).
In this sense, Priscila de León, who chaired the meeting, indicated that, as a result of the presentations and exhibitions, some 70 contacts were made between the different entities for collaborative work.
The island manager also highlighted the importance of this Network and the involvement of all registered entities, which “support and collaborate side by side to try to end gender inequality, especially among the most vulnerable groups: racialized women, elderly, rural, migrant or disabled”.
The Tenerife Violeta Island Network for Gender Equality (RIIGTV) encompasses a group of public and private entities of different natures (institutional, economic and social) committed to equal opportunities on the island of Tenerife. This commitment implies horizontal collaborative work between all the entities that belong to the RIIGTV, including the Island Council.
Last November, the Cabildo presented ten new entities of the Tenerife Violeta Island Network (seven companies and three entities from the third sector), so that there are now 93 public and private entities that are integrated into the II Strategic Framework of Actions in Gender Equality Policies Tenerife Violeta 2020-2025.
In this sense, the II Framework is the instrument of equal opportunity policies between women and men on the Island of Tenerife, promoted by the Cabildo.
It is configured as the basic tool to articulate and define priorities in the development of public policies aimed at promoting real equality of opportunities between women and men on the Island.
