SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Nira Fierro, has rejected the accusations of the Canary Coalition (CC) and the Popular Party (PP) at the headquarters of the Parliament of the Canary Islands about the judicial process of the so-called ‘mask case’ and has asked for “respect” for the development of this judicial process and the work of justice. “Justice must be respected, let’s let it work,” she emphasized.
The socialist deputy has accused CC and PP of making a “political use” of this process and of requesting an investigation commission precisely five months later when the justice is already investigating it. “It is clear that what they want to do is a political use.”
In this sense, he insists that the departure of the head of the SCS “has nothing to do” with his management during the difficult period of the pandemic, but rather with the evolution of the so-called Mask Case, which has even led to the declaration of summary secrecy, which has resulted in him no longer being in charge of the Canary Islands Health Service.
Fierro also denies that the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has “hidden” as criticized by the opposition, and they assure in this regard that he has always responded and appeared publicly, as has the Minister of Justice of the Canary Islands Government, who he has done so at his own request in the Parliament of the Canary Islands.
In addition, he recalls that no member of the Government is charged or investigated for this cause, and they are surprised that CC and PP ask for this investigation commission. “It is curious and they should exercise responsibility when, just this week, two people from their political formations have been charged while we work with the utmost respect for justice. They should make themselves look at what they have at home and not give lessons.”
The socialist explains that this Government acted as soon as it became aware of this case, since the Government, through the SCS and the Tax Agency, activated the seizure request of those who allegedly kept that money before it came out in the media. or enter to investigate justice.
“This government has always worked to recover the money, it continues to do so and will continue to do so, but it seems that some have no interest in this matter; it is clear that they are only moved by political criticism,” he says.
He also reminds the opposition that there is no member of the Canarian Government in said judicial process, and they emphasize that the commitment of this regional Executive with health is “indisputable”. “It is enough to make a comparison of the data in relation to the previous legislature to verify it. We are solving historical problems in management and infrastructure, while others are only trying to make political and partisan use of a case that is already being investigated judicially.”
