The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Public Services area, will establish special measures for the celebration, on November 1, of the traditional festival of All Saints, a date on which there is a notable increase in visitors in the different municipal cemeteries. To avoid crowds, the Santa Lastenia cemetery will remain open from 08:00 to 18:00, on October 29, 30, 31 and November 1. The rest of the days will maintain its usual schedule from 8.30 to 16.30. The San Rafael and San Roque cemeteries will remain closed as they are undergoing rehabilitation works.
The mayor of Public Services, Carlos Tarife, points out that “from the City Council of Santa Cruz, a call is made to citizens to maintain prudence and avoid crowds in cemeteries, staggering visits throughout the authorized days. For this, the schedules are extended in the previous days and on November 1 itself.
Smoking is prohibited inside the cemeteries, as well as any other device for inhalation of tobacco, water pipes, hookahs or similar, including electronic cigarettes or vaping. It is also prohibited to eat and drink alcoholic beverages inside the cemetery grounds. The adornment of the niches will be reduced to the extent that corresponds to each of them. It is recommended to go to the cemeteries with flower arrangements made. In any case, the waste originating from the decoration of the niches must be deposited in the containers.
