The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities, Sinpromi, has convened the ‘VI edition of the Sinpromi Integra Awards’, with which it seeks to publicly recognize the cases of good practices of those companies that promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in their workforce.
Specifically, the distinctions seek to recognize the continuous work carried out in a period of time not less than three years, of companies and entities whose actions and excellence of their practices, in terms of labor inclusion of people with disabilities, deserve this distinction. or have stood out for their commitment to people with disabilities.
The third vice president and insular councilor of Social Action, Marián Franquet, explains in a note that “the objective of the ‘Sinpromi Integra Awards’ is to publicly publicize and highlight the work of companies that go beyond strict compliance with the regulations , valuing professional talent, diversity and equal opportunities, as fundamental factors to achieve the full social inclusion of people with disabilities”.
Marián Franquet has highlighted “the importance of these distinctions, in the field of good practices of companies in terms of labor inclusion and that contemplate for the first time, universal accessibility incorporated into the work environment, which contributes to facilitating employability of people with disabilities”.
Companies wishing to submit their application may do so through the website www.sinpromi.eswhere the bases of the prizes and the necessary forms to participate are already available.
The ‘VI edition of the Sinpromi Integra Awards’ establishes five categories and will reward public and private companies,* with more than 50 employees, including people with disabilities, beyond compliance with the law.
Likewise, the second and third categories of this award will recognize the good practices in improving employability, of those companies that incorporate people with special insertion difficulties: people with intellectual disabilities, mental health problems, with a percentage of disability greater than 33%. ; people with physical or sensory disabilities with a percentage of disability greater than 65%; women with disabilities and working people with disabilities over 45 years of age.
In addition, these distinctions will recognize entities linked or not to the field of disability, which have contributed directly or indirectly to promoting the employment of people with disabilities.
The sixth edition includes as a novelty a specific category for companies and private entities that have incorporated universal accessibility in their environments, favoring the labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
The companies that compete for the ‘Sinpromi Integra Awards’ must meet a series of requirements, such as having a legally established head office in Spain and representation on the island of Tenerife; meet the reservation quota for people with disabilities, in accordance with current legislation and not be qualified as a Special Employment Center.
COMMEMORATIVE PLATE
The award of this call consists of a commemorative plaque, which will be awarded to companies or entities in each of the categories.
In addition, the jury of these awards may award special mentions to companies and entities that have stood out for their career in relation to the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
Sinpromi develops actions to promote the labor integration of people with disabilities, providing advice and personalized attention to job seekers and companies, in the search for offers, selection and individualized support for job performance.
Among the programs developed by Sinpromi are awareness-raising actions, aimed primarily at entities and companies, trying to raise awareness of the talent that people with disabilities contribute and reinforcing the strategic value of the diversity of the workforce, in the management of social responsibility business.
