The Santa Cruz City Council puts the economic return of Full moon in the city during the three days of celebration, time in which some 300,000 people visited the city, according to data from the Consistory. This was announced yesterday by the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, who argued that this edition has been the most participatory in the history of Plenilunio, “with more than 100 activities and 256 hours of dynamism.”
Bermúdez offered some data on that participation, such as the more than 71,000 people who used the tram, “18% more than the previous weekend”, or the 142,000 vehicles that entered the city between Friday and Sunday. “60% did it on Saturday, and the peak entry times were between 11:00 and 12:00, and between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.,” said the councilor, who added that the number of car parks in the city increased. of clients 40%.
The mayor offered satisfaction data through the survey of some 800 people. “40% indicated that it was the first time they had come to Plenilunio and many of the visitors were from outside the municipality, and 7.6% came from outside the Island,” he said. “We also obtained data on the average expenditure -he continued- which is estimated at around 30 euros per person, allocating 60% to restaurants and the remaining 40% to various purchases”. From these data is where the estimate of 300,000 visitors and an expense of nine million comes from.
Bermúdez defended that these figures guarantee that it is not simply about betting on the party. “This is a commitment to culture, gastronomy, commerce, to maintaining jobs… and that is why we will strive to maintain this rhythm of activities”.
The municipal councilor insisted that “we believe in this city model where people go out to the streets and enjoy the city, in which families have a place to go and in which the world of culture has a place to carry out its activity. ”, and added that “the programming has been a success”.
The balance of Plenilunio also served to publicize the next act of dynamization, which will be the Santa Cruz World Beer Festival, which will take place next weekend in the Palmetum parking lot.
Carlos Tarife, councilor of the Salud-La Salle district and promoter of this activity, pointed out that the party will take place on the 14th, 15th and 16th of this month and will allow you to enjoy beers from around the world.
