SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 5 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has said he is willing to collaborate with the Justice after the Investigating Court Number 7 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has summoned him to testify as a witness in the procedure known as the ‘case masks’.
In statements to the media, the president insisted that the Government of the Canary Islands is at the disposal of Justice from the outset to clarify this case and to recover “every last euro” of the 4 million that were paid for the purchase of a million masks during the pandemic.
In this sense, Ángel Víctor Torres indicated that the Public Prosecutor’s Office asked the judge to submit a series of questions to the Presidency of the Government that arrived at the end of July and the legal services of the Autonomous Community have already sent a certificate and are completing that information.
Likewise, Torres considers that his summons to testify is due to “reasons of urgency and due to the procedure” and clarified that he will also be able to testify in writing. In any case, he reiterated that he will go to collaborate with the Justice so that this is clarified and recovered until the last euro.
