The parliamentary group Yes We Can Canary Islands has communicated to the Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, the “brutal eviction” of the activists who for weeks have been trying to stop the construction of the Cuna del Alma tourist complex in Puertito de Adeje to build the Cuna del Alma tourist complex, a expulsion carried out by private security groups, according to the complainants.

“This morning they have been brutally evicted by the private security that is at the service of the builders and promoters” of an urbanization that “is going to destroy a part of our territory,” the president denounced in an audio. spokesperson for Sí Podemos Canarias, Manuel Morales.

For Sí Podemos Canarias, this eviction is an attack against the right to peaceful protest, and “it is intolerable that private security groups act like this.”

The activists have denounced in a statement that the eviction took place violently, taking advantage of the storm, at dawn, “at night and treachery”, while the people encamped slept.

“A group of numerous people, some hooded, without uniforms, supposedly workers, and others with their faces uncovered, supposedly security personnel, with construction tools, attacked several activists with pliers, etc.”, the collective statement states. Save La Tejita, in which it is emphasized that “nobody without a court order can use violence and force against goods or people.”

For his part, Ángel Víctor Torres described what happened as “regrettable”: “Dialogue is always the right way to solve problems. Never violence. Clarify everything that happened.”

Unfortunate events occurred in the Puertito de Adeje, in Tenerife.

Dialogue is always the right way to solve problems. Never violence.
