This is the academic calendar for the new course at the University of La Laguna


The University of La Laguna (ULL) informs this Friday that the new academic year will start on Monday, September 26 with the solemn act of opening the course, and classes the next day.

The opening ceremony will be held from 11:00 a.m. in its usual location, the Paraninfo of the academic institution, and will be attended by authorities such as the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, representing the King; the Minister of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports, Manuela Armas and the rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Lluis Serra, among others.

On this occasion, the inaugural lecture will be given by the professor of Pharmacology Ricardo Borges Jurado, entitled Investigate: the passion of every day.

The next day, Tuesday, classes will begin and the welcome day for new students will also take place, in such a way that in all centers there will be sessions for presenting grades from 08:00 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m. hours, a general welcome day will be held on the Guajara campus, of a more playful nature, for all students who are approaching the University of La Laguna for the first time.

Academic calendar

The first semester of the course will take place from Tuesday, September 27 to Wednesday, January 25, with a holiday interlude in the middle for Christmas, between December 23 and January 8.

Immediately afterwards, between January 16 and 25, the first examination period will take place, corresponding to subjects taken in the recently completed semester.

The second semester will begin on Monday, January 30, and will run until Thursday, May 11. Again, there will be a holiday period during its development, corresponding to Holy Week, between April 3 and 8.

In addition, from March 6 to 13, the call for end-of-course exams will be held for people who lack a maximum of three subjects to finish their degree studies, which must be requested from February 14 to 22. After the weeks of classes, the exams corresponding to the second semester are scheduled between May 15 and 24.

The last period of examinations of the course will take place between June 12 and July 11 to have a new opportunity to pass in this course subjects that have been pending in both semesters.
