The City Council of Candelaria advised against bathing on the beaches of the municipality yesterday, Sunday, after the microalgae detection.
As reported on Monday, the situation has been changing in recent hours, as the spots disappeared in the afternoon, but were sighted again this morning, around 10:00.
From the City Council, users of the beaches are warned to be careful when bathing in the coming days, due to a high rate of intermittent presence of the same.
In turn, emphasis is placed on not linking the presence of microalgae with any type of discharge from the municipality’s outfalls, which have a continuous control and surveillance plan.
In a statement, the Consistory reports that “a bloom of microalgae is expected in these weeks, so the situation will be monitored from the Health area.”
