SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Gustavo Matos, paid a visit this Thursday to the expansion works of the Chamber, works that began last year and are expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
“A building that was in a state of semi-abandonment at the time of its acquisition has been recovered and will contribute to giving added value to the public heritage that is part of the Parliament,” Matos explains in a note, highlighting the milestone that this extension represents within the framework of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of self-government and parliamentarism in the Canary Islands.
The new building provides 2,000 square meters of multipurpose space distributed over four floors and its budget is 2.9 million euros.
According to the president, it will allow progress in the modernization and proximity of the institution to the citizenry.
