Canarian Coalition (CC) proposes the creation and implementation of a plan to revitalize centers for the elderly, an initiative whose purpose is that this segment of the population has facilities to develop “an active role in society and encourage them to age in good physical, mental and social health.
The nationalist councilors Alexis Gómez and Fina Chinea, during a visit to the association for the elderly in Las Galletas, assured that with this plan “we seek to invigorate the community life of the elderly who reside in Arona, promoting participation and social cooperation, in addition to satisfy their cultural concerns and communication with other groups.
Promote communication, coexistence and interpersonal relationships in the face of problems of loneliness and isolation, recover traditions and customs (trades, professions and crafts) that are being lost and that represent the identity of the area, promote healthy habits, encourage associationism and guiding and advising for access to grants and subsidies are benefits that CC attributes to the plan.
A proposal that will also allow “detect cases that require social support and refer them to the Board of Social Services.”
